Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site Chief Financial Officer role located in Reno, NV at United Construction Company. The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for financial planning, overseeing financial statements, risk management, utilizing analytical skills for financial decision-making, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial leadership within the construction or real estate development industry.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Leadership:

  • Collaborate with the President and executive team to develop and implement financial strategies that align with company goals.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Report regularly to the President and stakeholders on financial performance, key metrics, and financial risks.

Accounting & Financial Management:

  • Oversee accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and construction-specific accounting practices.
  • Manage financial statements, audits, and reporting processes.

Risk Management & Compliance:

  • Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies, ensuring compliance with insurance, relevant regulations, standards, and company policy.
  • Oversee audit processes and ensure financial integrity.

Operational & Strategic Support

  • Partner with operations and project management teams to monitor project costs, profitability, and cash flow.
  • Evaluate and improve financial systems, reporting tools, and processes.
  • Support business development initiatives by providing financial insights for strategic decision-making.

Cash Flow and Capital Management:

  • Manage cash flow and working capital credit lines to optimize financial performance.
  • Evaluate capital investments and funding strategies to support business growth
  • Asset Management (Vehicles, FAQ, Facilities ETC)

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Provide coaching and professional development opportunities for team members.

Qualifications

  • Financial Planning and Finance skills
  • Financial Statements and Financial Reporting proficiency
  • Analytical Skills for strategic financial decision-making
  • 10 years of financial leadership in construction or related industry preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Expertise in financial forecasting, modeling, and budgeting.
  • CPA or CFA certification preferred
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
